After several years of comprehensive evaluation, RMUoHP has been granted regional accreditation status by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation and the Secretary of the U. S. Department of Education. Regional accreditation applies to the institution as a whole and is a voluntary, non-governmental, process of analytic self reflection and peer review that assures educational quality. “RMUoHP has developed an innovative educational model for healthcare professionals and NWCCU simply confirmed that our educational model is exceptional,” said, Dr. Larry Banks, Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost.Founded in 1998, RMUoHP’s mission is to educate current and future healthcare professionals in outcomes oriented evidence-based practice. "It takes a great deal of time, commitment and determination to earn and maintain regional accreditation," said Dr. Richard P. Nielsen, President of RMUoHP. "Universities and Colleges must not only meet specific standards of educational excellence, but their faculty and administration make a commitment to ongoing improvement to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver high quality education to students." Nielsen said. “We wish to thank all of our students, faculty, administration, and staff for their confidence in us and their patience with us throughout the past several years of this process. We could not have achieved this status without them!” said Dr. Michael Skurja, Executive Vice President of Administration.
