On November 12-13, Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions (RMUoHP: www.rmuohp.edu) hosted the Module 1 Graston Technique workshop, which was sponsored by Intermountain Healthcare (www.intermountainhealthcare.org).  Thirty-four physical therapists, occupational therapists, and athletic trainers from across Utah participated in the two-day clinical education event. The Graston Technique (www.grastontechnique.com) uses stainless steel instruments to innovatively reduce recovery time for injuries and resolve chronic conditions through soft tissue mobilization.

Dr. David Paulson, manager of Intermountain Healthcare’s Utah Valley Regional Medical Center Physical Therapy and a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in Physical Therapy, commented regarding the workshop, “Bringing together a diverse group of clinicians in an interdisciplinary learning environment at RMUoHP’s excellent facilities provided an opportunity to increase expertise and improve patient care. We look forward to continued collaboration between these two organizations and the resulting benefits to Intermountain Healthcare’s patients.” Echoing Dr. Paulson’s sentiments, Dr. Rick Nielsen, RMUoHP President, noted, “A shared commitment towards improving the delivery of healthcare in our State creates a natural and meaningful alignment between the University and Intermountain Healthcare.
